What a sweet and touching book. The illustrations are very detailed and realistic and give the reader and listener lots to look at and discuss. A lovely read with a simple and poignant message- keep talking and listening to each other. It’s multicultural setting and characters make it accessible and appealing to all.

A tale of magic, love and change. Kossim tells a beautiful story about a kid named Tunde who has dreams and values that differ from those his father has for him. As the story unfolds, Tunde’s father learns to accept and love his son for who he is. I love and recommend this book because it is one that many African homes will relate with.Good job Kossim

When books contain an empathetic character such as Tunde from Draw Me Close to You, children can see themselves in that character, identify how that character is feeling and apply it to how they are currently feeling. Sometimes books provide the words for how children feel when children are unable to find the words for themselves
